My Resume on Tableau

by - 10:16

After learning Tableau a lot and taking reference from different people, I finally came up with my resume made on the Tableau.

I have prepared this simple resume which tries to provide as much information about my education, work experience and skills.

The advantage of making the resume on Tableau over traditional one-page paper is that I can still stick to one page and at the same time provide all the information by dynamically changing skills and experience section from viewer's action.

I have used following component from Tableau to prepare the resume:
  1. Gantt Bar: This display my education and work experience in time series format. Different color corresponds to different school/company and helps in correlating the skills I gained at that place.
  2. Text Table: This display my education/working place, projects and corresponding duties or responsibilities in those projects.
  3. Word Cloud: This chart describes the skills I have gained over the years. Size of word corresponds to the proficiency in a particular skill.
  4. Image: Profile picture
  5. Image with web link: LinkedIn logo which redirect to my Linked profile.

Gantt Bar has the action attached to it. That means if you click on any bar(particular school/company), it will show only corresponding experience and skills. This action property on Gantt bar helps to keep as much as you can in the resume. Even if lot of information is available in skills and experience, we can filter by clicking on skills and experience we gained at any particular school/company.
